Since moving to Boston a few weeks ago, we have been trying hard to make our apartment less of a disaster zone strewn with stray cardboard boxes and skeletons of half-assembled Ikea furniture. With most things now built and put away, we’ve been able to focus more on adding some home-y touches, also mostly from Ikea.
On our first (though it won’t be the last) Ikea trip, one of my main goals besides a stylish but comfy couch (we picked the Karlstad Loveseat in Isunda Grey), was to find these little cacti and white earthenware 3 1/2 inch Kardemumma pots for our big, white window sills. They are perfect and have survived much longer than any other plant I’ve ever owned…though that doesn’t mean much!
Like every blogger ever I also picked up the Skurar plant pot for makeup brushes! It’s going to look great on my (currently non-existent) vanity. It also looks really pretty as a candler holder.
We spotted these adorable mugs on sale and I love them. I’m not sure if they’re still available at Ikea but you can find similar versions here and here.
I had these Sticky9 (formerly Stickygram) Instagram magnets on the fridge in our old apartment, but they were such an easy way to quickly add some personalization to our new kitchen. Sticky9 allows you to create magnets, phone cases, photo collages, and more by importing photos from your Instagram account or your desktop. When I ordered these about a year and a half ago, I remember it was annoying you couldn’t add your non-Instagram photos, so I’m glad to see they added that! I really like how they look when organized as a tile effect like on this blog. They usually have promo codes running and offer free worldwide shipping.
I feel like we’ve already settled in to this apartment more after a month than we did our last apartment the almost three years we lived there. I even made a Pinterest board. Maybe we’ll get around to actually hanging art this time?
